We use a 1,500 psi hydro pump to go up through your sewer outlet into each tank. With our unique process we are able to remove years of build-up to get your tanks factory clean. After the cleaning, your tanks are thoroughly rinsed, one at a time, to ensure they are squeaky clean!
Each tank cleaning situation is as different as the RV owner, water usage (or lack of), and maintenance schedules. Another big factor is the age (year) of the RV. Given all these differing factors, the process can take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours.
The short answer is no. We take all precautions necessary to insure a clean process throughout until we are finished. Our kleening standards and precautions keep us in good standing with many RV parks.
No. We won't disturb your neighbors. Our cleaning process is no louder than a humming sound. You can carry on a conversation standing next to the pump.
Kleen Tank dealerships recommend using our exclusive mixture of Pine Sol and Calgon bath beads (or pearls), with water, in either a quart or gallon plastic reusable container. The recipe is free to all and available at kleentank.com. It can also be found on our business cards and on the quart bottle we give each customer.
The Pine Sol kills all bacteria (that causes that disgusting smell) and creates a harsh environment preventing the growth of black mold and yeast that is so prevalent in the grey tanks. The Calgon part of the mixture (which is heavier than water) goes to the bottom of a tank to act like Teflon, allowing the contents to slide out while emptying your tanks. A by-product of the Calgon is it also helps to lubricate your gate valves and sensors.
Kleen Tank dealerships across the U.S. recommend NOT using ANY products that promote a break-down process when added to your tanks. This is completely contrary to what you may have seen/heard by watching YouTube videos and listening to your neighbor. Here's why:
The many enzyme products available are great...if you have a septic system. They do exactly what they are designed to do. Enzymes break down solid organic (#2) waste in a septic system. As a liquid, it flows into a second tank, then over time, out to a leach field.
Your on-board RV tanks are not a septic system. They are temporary holding tanks. That's it!
Breaking down organic matter, using enzymes, creates a peanut butter-pancake mix consistency that coats the insides of your tanks leaving a sludge like material, especially on the tank bottom and on your sensors. The build-up, over time, can and will cause problems. These problems won't be solved, or go away, by simply doing rinse after rinse. The only way to truly get your tanks clean is by having them professionally Kleened.
All we require to go to work for you is to have these 3 things;
1) At least a 20 amp power outlet. We typically use either the 50 or 30-amp outlets (whichever is available), but a regular electrical outlet can be used.
2) Water hookups
3) A typical sewer outlet that will be found in each spot at most RV parks. Remember that some State Parks may not have sewer outlets.
95% of the time, we don't need access to the inside. But, there are those rare times that, no matter how hard we try, our hose can't get into your black tank. If that happens, there is a different setup that can be done (all with no mess), from inside your bathroom, to clean down through the toilet. Another time would be if you have a clog in the toilet tube. These clogs can only be cleared from the inside.
There is no problem with you watching and asking questions. Just grab a lawn chair, a cup of coffee, then come sit a spell. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
Sure! If your issue or question can be solved or answered with a phone call, that's all the better. We are happy to help in any way.
